Real Madrid defeated Osasuna last night to win their 20th Copa del Rey (CDR) title in the club history.
The Brazilian youngster Rodrygo Goes opened the scoring for Los Blancos as he scored in the second minute of the match with the assist from his countrymen Vinicius Junior.
Osasuna equalised at the 58th minute with the help of a powerful strike from the Spanish midfielder Lucas Torro.
Rodrygo then scored the winner for the Whites in the 70th minute, which helped them win the title with the score line of 2-1.
While talking to the press after securing the title, Real Madrid’s midfielder Luka Modric said “this club is my whole life”.
"Whenever the fans applaud me on the pitch I get emotional, goosebumps. It's something inexplicable," added the five-time Champions League-winner.
Modric has also extended his contract with the Los Blancos, which will help him stay at the club till 2024.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti also answered a number of questions after the match.
"We deserved to win Copa del Rey. We beat a lot of really tough opponents during our run,” said the winning coach. "Celebrating? We will celebrate with a little bit of wine. Nothing special. We have a game on Tuesday."
He was also full of praise for his squad as Madrid have won every title in the last two years.
"I thank the squad and the fans. We won everything the past two seasons," said the 63-year-old Italian.
Additionally, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez denied all the rumours of Ancelotti leaving the club as the club is very pleased with the Italian.
“Let Ancelotti leave? I don't even want to hear about it. He has another year on his contract and we are very happy with him," he said.
It must be noted that Real Madrid will play the English champions Manchester City in a UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, May 9 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
